Meet the Founder

Deitra “Coach Dei” Williams

Founder & Executive Director of Bridge The Gap Foundation — transformational leader, mentor, and lifelong advocate for Maryland's youth and families.

Deitra 'Coach Dei' Williams — Founder and Executive Director of Bridge The Gap Foundation.

Her Story

Two decades of service. A lifetime of purpose.

Coach Dei has dedicated over two decades to serving Maryland's youth, families, and communities. After retiring from the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services with more than 20 years of service, she expanded her lifelong passion by creating Bridge The Gap Foundation and the Bridge the Gap Committee of Maryland.

Throughout her career she has stood in the gap for young people at their most vulnerable — walking beside them through crisis, courtrooms, classrooms, and life's turning points. Every chapter has sharpened one conviction: transformation begins on the inside.

Her Approach

She doesn't teach information. She develops transformation.

Her unique method blends personal development, leadership psychology, practical life skills, mindfulness, and community engagement — helping individuals discover who they are, overcome limiting beliefs, and become transformational leaders in their homes, schools, and neighborhoods.

  • Personal Development

    Identity, mindset, and emotional intelligence.

  • Leadership Psychology

    Self-governance and principled decision-making.

  • Practical Life Skills

    Communication, workforce readiness, and stewardship.

  • Mindfulness

Inner awareness that fuels outer transformation.

  • Community Engagement

Serving where you stand, starting today.

What She Believes

Every person possesses greatness waiting to be developed.

Coach Dei believes lasting change begins with the individual — that transformed thinking creates transformed lives, transformed families, and ultimately transformed communities. Her work is rooted in the conviction that every young person, every parent, and every neighbor has a purpose worth developing.

That's why Bridge The Gap Foundation doesn't just run programs. It develops people. It doesn't simply address problems. It builds solutions.

"Every person possesses greatness waiting to be developed."
